Dermisence A/S only sells sunscreen that has physical protection. This means that the harmful UVA & UVB rays are reflected from the skin's surface, and thus never come into contact with the skin. The cheaper version of sun protection (which is still allowed to be sold in the EU, but is completely banned in the US) has been shown not to be particularly skin-friendly, it breaks down coral reefs and harms marine fauna as well as being a contributing factor to what we calls "Mallorca acne" (Acne breakouts that occur when one is in the sun and uses this cheaper type of sun protection)

Our sunscreens also reflect the blue light, screen light, also called HEV light (High energy visible light), which is shown to promote pigment damage in the skin. If you sit a lot in front of a screen, we recommend using sun protection - spf - all year round.

Another thing that is important to know is that a physical sunscreen with spf 40 protects against 97.5% of the harmful rays, while an SPF 50 provides 98% protection. Remember to lubricate the skin every two hours when enjoying the sun's wonderful rays either on the beach, on a trip or just out enjoying the nice weather.

Many people find that a physical spf leaves a white film on the skin. The sunscreens we sell do not provide that experience, quite the contrary. They are well absorbed into the skin and have a lovely hint of color to reduce redness in the skin, giving a lovely, glowing skin.
